OCIA is designed to help adults explore the Catholic Faith. The program is ongoing and multi-dimensional, including classes, retreats, and service. It is meant to be a step-by-step journey, with stepping stones that mark the end of one stage and the beginning of another. Those candidates who are prepared to be initiated (through Baptism and/or Confirmation) into the Catholic faith would do so at the Easter Vigil.
Ask yourself the following questions:
If any of these situations describe you, the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) might be just what you are searching for.
This process is not only for those who would like to complete their Catholic initiation or become a part of the Catholic faith, but also for those who are practicing their Catholic faith and want to know more. The candidates are encouraged to have a support person come to the classes and retreats. This person becomes an “extra set of ears” as the candidate hears information and becomes a support and guide on the journey through Catholicism.
Classes are held on Monday evenings from September through May, with a break during December. You can view the class calendar on left navigation pane.
